Shacklton is 6 months old and a teenager now. This is when kitties are at the most risk of discovering drugs. I am afraid Shackleton is developing an addition to cat nip. Look at him, he is so high!!!

Shackleton loves his new decapitated pigeon head toy! He kills it over and over again, puts it in his mouth and carries it over to his food bowl. I think he expects it to turn into food later.

Oh hai there is a pigeon head stuck on my toof.

Civet Cat

Civets are small, lithe-bodied, mostly arboreal mammals native to the tropics of Africa and Asia. Shackleton looks just like a Civet with a smushed in face. He is wild and ferocious like one too.

Shackleton Makes it Rain

This is what we got Shackleton for Christmas: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=36374115&ref=sr_list_3&&ga_search_query=pigeon+toy&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title because it is exactly what he wants to do to the birds on the fire escape.

Shackleton the Grouch

Shackleton hates it when we clean the house. His whole world is turned upside down! Nothing is where it was before. His favorite bed (Mommy's coat) gets hung up on the wall where he can't get dander all over it. All his toys get picked up off the floor too. His entire house smells like lemon and cleaner instead of cat hair. It offends his Jacobson's organ very much.

DJ Kitty

At 6 months old, Shackleton is a teenager cat. Like many teenagers, Shackleton has developed a passion for music.
When we got him, Shackleton was all ears. Now, he has a real cat face.
This is the first day we got Shackleton a collar. It had a bell on it. Shackleton did not know where that jingling noise was coming from; it drove him crazy!

Like his namesake, Shackleton is an Antarctic explorer. Here, Shackleton makes his 17th trip to the South Pole. He cannot stay away. The South Pole smells like pickles.

One day, Mommy and Daddy packed Shackleton up in a bag and took him the vet where they paid $300 ($300!!!!) to get him poked and prodded. Luckily, they also got these glamour shots out of the deal, as stainless steel examining tables make for good backdrops.

This is from the day Shackleton was adopted.
People keep putting Shackleton on a leash. He does not like this, as a kitten cannot fully explore when there is a blue bungee attached to him. The outside can also be very scary. One time, Shackleton heard a dog and decided to hide in this safe place for 20 minutes.

Like his namesake, Shackleton is a seasoned explorer. Here, he discovers something called running water.

Shackleton comes from a long line of distinguished kitties.

Sir Ernest Shackleton was an Antarctic explorer who led multiple expiditions to the polar regions in the early 20th century. Shackleton is best known for captaining the ill-fated Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition, during which his ship, the Endurance, was crushed by pack ice, stranding them in Antarctica for three years. Nevertheless, Shackelton managed to rescue his entire 28-man crew with no loss of life by crossing uncharged glaciers and all sorts of nice heroic things like that.
Shackleton's favorite food is cat food. His second favorite food is proscuitto. He would like to taste pigeon someday, please.

Shackleton is a six-month old tuxedo tabby who lives in New York City. He likes to chase the birds on the fire escape. He has yet to catch one, but he has a plan. He is going to steal all the bread that the upstairs neighbor throws down, thereby starving the birds. He is sure his plan will work.
